Expansion at A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH

Rostock, 15 March 2010 – The stage is set for growth: After its highly successful entry into the Rhine/Mosel/Main market in August 2009 and its promising business development in recent years, A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH is continuing to expand and, subject to final confirmation of finance expected shortly, is to commission a third luxury river cruiser for its third and newest cruise area. Chief Operating Officer, Markus Zoepke, officially announced the new build on receiving the second Kreuzfahrt Guide Award from the Hamburg publisher Bellevue and More at this year’s ITB Convention in Berlin. He also accepted the award of “River Cruise Ship of the Year” for the A-ROSA AQUA.

Like its two sister vessels, the A-ROSA AQUA and A-ROSA VIVA, the Rhine cruise ship A- ROSA BRAVA will be built by Neptun Werft GmbH in Warnemünde. All other ships belonging to the fleet were also built by the Rostock specialists. If all goes to plan, the A-ROSA BRAVA will go into service in April 2011. With its four Danube and two Rhône ships, the modern A- ROSA fleet will then have a total of nine luxury river cruise ships.

"The path to independence, which was laid by a management buyout in summer 2009, has provided us with the basis for further expansion of our company and so we are pleased to be able to continue the ongoing development of A-ROSA in the river cruise market with the A- ROSA BRAVA", said Lars M. Clasen, CEO of the Rostock shipping company.

“Following the launch of our first Rhine cruise ship, the A-ROSA AQUA, and the extremely promising level of bookings for the second vessel, the decision in favour of a third Rhine vessel was an easy one”, added COO Markus Zoepke. “The areas served are ideal for our target group and offer interesting towns and a variety of different routes."

Along with its two sister vessels, AQUA and VIVA, to be launched in Basel on 26 March, the A-ROSA BRAVA will open up the new Rhine/Mosel/Main area with its variety of routes for a culinary, cultural and luxury experience in the 2011 season. Charming destination ports such as Amsterdam, Antwerp, Strasbourg, Bernkastel-Kues or Dusseldorf await passengers, as well as unusual excursions, and breathtaking landscapes and sights. Even travellers who already know the Rhine or the Rhine region will be able to discover the destination still further while sailing through breathtaking landscapes to vibrant metropolises.

Passengers can expect both the same high standards and also the luxury fittings and consistent quality found on other A-ROSA river vessels. The new luxury vessel, with its lips and rose logo on the bow, will also continue the successful concept and brand philosophy of spacious passenger areas, outward-facing cabins with French balconies (average size 14.5 m2), individual buffet restaurant with live cooking sections, large sun deck with outdoor pool (whirlpool on Rhine vessels) and a spa/wellness and fitness area. 99 outward-facing cabins with space for a maximum of 202 passengers promise a modern, relaxing holiday of first- class quality.
