Donal Mac Nioclais is Investment Director bij Waterland in Dublin, Ierland. Voordat hij aan de slag ging bij Waterland, heeft hij als Vice President of Strategy & Development bij CRH plc gewerkt, een toonaangevend internationaal bouwmaterialenconcern, waarbij hij verantwoordelijk was voor alle M&A en strategische activiteiten op het gebied van zware materialen in West-Europa en Noord-Amerika.
Daarvoor heeft hij als CEO bij AER BIO gewerkt, een Ierse biotechnologische start-up, en ook als Commercial Manager bij Aquamarine Power, een Schotse technologieontwikkelaar voor hernieuwbare energie. Hij begon zijn carrière als adviseur bij McKinsey & Company en Accenture.

Donal is in het bezit van een INSEAD MBA. Verder heeft hij aan de Dublin City University in Ierland een master in engineering behaald en een Diplôme d'Ingénieur aan de Télécom SudParis in Frankrijk.
